In 2017, Whel was conceived from an idea to create a sanctuary where busy people in high-stress occupations could retreat and recharge. Today, Whel offers two top-rated retreats that guide people toward improving their quality of life.
Caring for others
Everything we do starts and stops with a sincere desire to care for others. We put effort into anticipating our guests’ needs and wants and into ensuring their experience is a transformative one.
Giving more than we receive
We operate Whel on the understanding that by giving more than we receive in exchange for our offerings, we always do right by our patrons and we’re never at a loss for people wishing to purchase what we offer.
Art over profit
Whel prioritizes the continuous evolution of what we view as an art project. It’s a profitable business, but improving the customer experience of our retreats always takes priority over increasing sales or reducing costs.
People matter most
Putting customers first starts with putting our staff first. We pay above average, we limit work hours, we provide nutritious meals, we offer continuous training, and we invest in creating an environment where people genuinely care.
No greenwashing
We care for the environment but not for greenwashing. We do things that make an impact and we do them quietly, like serving a 100% plant-based menu, providing natural toiletries, and minimizing waste in the kitchen.
